About ensemble

Dear friends,
let us introduce to you the Slovak folklore ensemble KARPATY from Bratislava. Slovakia, pictoresque country in the heart of Europe, is the cradle of thousands of romantic forms of folklore.

Geographic articulation of the country is expressed in the variety of the customs of people, of their songs, dances and way of life.

Folklore ensemble Karpaty was founded in february 1998 and it's the youngest folklore ensemble of Slovakia. The ensemble consists of the folk music group, girls'singing choir and dance group. 

The girl singers group accompanies dance programme with its songs and it presents also own artistic programme.

	The folk music band consists of the first and second violins, doublebass, counter, akordeon and cimbal.
	The members are young people from Bratislava's universities and secondary schools. They are amateurs for whom folklore dance became a hobby but to performe it on a nearly professional level.

Joy, beauty and youth are natural for them and they surely attract your interest. We wish you deep artistic imression from the performance of our folklore ensemble.

Our ensembel adapts the themes from many regions of Slovakia and transform ihem to the artistic scene forms. It presents songs, music and dances at various degrees of stylization with the emphasis upon the authenticity of performance. Present creation of the ensemble shows orientation towards Northern and Eastern Slovakia.
